More details

A calming, sedative-free nutrition blend which quietens busy brains to restore natural sleep, with no morning grogginess.

Combining essential mineral magnesium glycinate with amino acids L-Theanine and L-Taurine, Night Support promotes calming neurotransmitters to help you wind down after a busy day.

GABA supplements can't be sold in the UK but instead we use nutrition to naturally promote GABA.

L-Theanine is found in tea and thought to be responsible for tea’s soothing effects as well as making tea less ‘jittery’ than coffee.

L-Taurine is actually calming, despite being found in energy drinks. It’s actually used in energy drinks since taurine plus caffeine promotes concentration.

In fact, you can even take Night Support in the daytime to help with calm concentration.

Magnesium bisglycinate (also known as magnesium glycinate) is a combination of magnesium and the amino acid glycine, in itself helpful for sleep. So, we find this to be the best magnesium for sleep.

Night Support is free from 5-HTP. Commonly used in sleep supplements, 5-HTP is unsafe to take alongside anti-depressant prescription medicines, so we avoid it to provide a gentle and safe sleep aid.

Doesn’t need to be taken with food.

General guidelines
  • Magnesium complexes can be taken with or without food. For most people, they are helpful in the evening, after exercise, or for daytime calm and concentration.
  • Multivitamins are best taken with breakfast or lunch.
  • Fish & Omega oils are better taken with food.

I have trouble swallowing pills; can the capsules be opened and sprinkled on food/water?

Yes - all of the City Survivor range are in vegetarian capsules which can easily be pulled in half and the contents emptied into a cold drink.

You can also add the contents to food, though it may impact the flavour.

From our other ranges, we have Bare Biology liquid fish oil or mini capsules, and Collagen powder which can be mixed with any drink.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions about City Survivor Night Support

What is Night Support for?

It is formulated to support a healthy sleep-wake cycle, evening relaxation and an easier transition into rest, without sedatives.

Is Night Support a sedative?

No, it does not contain sedatives and does not cause morning grogginess.

Is Night Support safe to take with prescription medicines such as SSRIs?

Many sleep supplements contain L-tryptophan or 5-HTP, which are not advised alongside SSRI medications. Night Support does not include these ingredients and has no known SSRI interactions. However, if you are taking prescribed medication, have a medical condition or are pregnant, it is important to speak to your doctor before using any food supplement.

Why does Night Support contain less than 100 percent of the magnesium NRV?

The capsules are filled only with active ingredients, with no fillers. Night Support uses two well-absorbed forms of magnesium – citrate and bisglycinate. These forms contain less elemental magnesium than magnesium oxide, but they are significantly better absorbed. Higher-dose magnesium supplements often rely on magnesium oxide, which contains around 80 percent magnesium but is poorly absorbed and can have a laxative effect. With well-absorbed forms, the body can use the magnesium efficiently, even at a lower dose.

Can I take Night Support every night?

Yes, it is gentle enough for daily use and suitable for long-term support.

Can I combine Night Support with Vital Minerals Magnesium?

Yes, people might use both in their evening routine if they require more magnesium. Another strategy is to use Vital Minerals Magnesium in the daytime after exercising, for muscle recovery, and Night Support in the evening for relaxation.
